If you have read my previous posts, you know I have worked for 17 years in a League Two Professional Football Club as their Sports Therapist.
In those 17 years I have dealt with a lot of football injuries. Some common injuries such as ligament sprains and muscle strains (or ‘pulls’ as we call them in the industry!). My job was to help treat the injury using deep tissue massage to realign muscle and ligament fibres.
Preparing the player for matches with pre sport massage and help match recovery with post sport massage. I helped players with their ‘niggles’ and help keep them playing a 90 minute game. I dealt with their injuries when they came off the pitch and had continuity with them throughout their rehabilitation period.
As the years have gone by I have added to my knowledge and gained advanced massage techniques by gaining my Level 6 BTEC Professional Diploma in Advanced Clinical and Sports Massage. Using this knowledge and advanced massage techniques on the football players and on my private clients. Having gained this qualification, I decided to take my Leap of Faith by giving my notice to the football club and launching my massage therapy business. How scary was that?
But how exciting!!
So, I am now in the process of launching my massage therapy business helping clients who are dealing with aches and pains, niggles or sports injuries.
New beginnings, as I take a deep breath and start a new chapter in my life
