2022: Making changes to live better

Change can be both exciting and scary at the same time, but ultimately inevitable. However, making small changes to improve your health, mentally and physically, can have a bigger impact than you think.

Change your perception

Start by changing your outlook

The mindset you have ultimately ends up impacting your behaviour and attitude towards a certain activity or situation.

A simple switch on your outlook can have you being excited (well happy) to do even the jobs you find the hardest to do.

Breath and reflect

We often forget the importance of just taking a breath. Not only does a deep breath calm you down but it also allows your brain to work more efficiently by getting plenty of oxygen into your blood stream.

Breathing exercises usually go hand in hand with reflection. Reflecting on what you're not happy about and celebrating small achievements can help you keep track of your goals, making it easier to make new ones.

Move your body

A little stretch and a walk

Stretching is a key part of my homecare advice. Stretching is an easy way to get your body moving and loosen those muscles.

Our bodies are not made to be sat idly for long periods of time, therefore, if your joints start to feel tight, that's an indicator to start stretching regularly.

Walking is another simple way to gently get your body moving. It can have a big impact on your mental health too as it boosts endorphins (the 'feel-good' chemicals) in the brain and improves your mood and self-perception.

So in conclusion

Whatever changes or resolutions you have for 2022, don't forget the simple changes that can improve your life and help you live better.

And as always, I'll be here to talk. Get in touch today.
