Self-care with Anne Taylor
As part of my approach to treatment, I will give you bespoke homecare exercises to carry out between sessions which will help to reduce your pain and increase your movement. They can consist of stretching, strengthening and balance.
But self-care can be defined as anything that's taking care of oneself to promote health and wellness. From exercise to getting enough sleep and maintaining healthy relationships.
Many people don't understand the importance of self-care and so don't see it as a necessary aspect of their lives.
With burnout, anxiety and stress being all too common, self-care can be 'the answer to how we can all better cope with daily stressors' (Kelsey Patel, Wellness expert & author).
Finding the time and ability to unwind and slow down can be hard in this modern world where you receive alerts every minute of the day from the technology around us.
That's why it's important to start small. Instead of creating a 3-hour, daily workout routine, try a short walk or simply just spending time with your loved ones. This is all classed as self-care and sometimes we just need reminding of that.
So let's make it a goal. Even just a few minutes a day, try to implement some sort of self-care into your daily routine. You won't regret it!
