Mental Health & Chronic Pain: What's The Link?

Pain is often thought of as easy to fix or that it will disappear after a period of time.

Chronic pain is classed as: 'long-standing pain that persists beyond the usual recovery period or occurs alongside a chronic health condition' (Hopkins Medicine).

We usually think of chronic pain as not that serious so we tend to brush it off as a part of our lives, especially as we get older. But chronic pain can affect us at any age for a number of different reasons and the effects can be draining.

As I have mentioned many times before, our mental and physical states are inextricably linked. If your body is in constant pain (severe or not), it will have an effect on your mental state, whether that be through stress, anxiety or even depression.

So how can I help?

My aim is to reduce your pain in the shortest possible time, so you can get back to feeling like yourself, faster.

You shouldn't have to live with pain, adjust your life to pain or let your mental health suffer because of pain. My work as a Clinical Massage Therapist has allowed me to use my toolbox of skills and holistic therapies to allow my clients not to be controlled by their pain.

My approach allows me to understand you as a whole person and not just as a product of your pain. This is done through a thorough pre-treatment consultation, assessment & treatment and homecare advice.

Get in touch today on 07525 448 771, so I can get to reducing your pain faster.
